Profile of the Placement

Vice Chancellor
Professor Munna Singh Completed his Ph.D(Gold-medalist) from University of Lucknow in 1991 under the guidance of Dr. P.V. Sane, Fellow – National Academy of Sciences (FNA) former Director, CSIR – NBRI, Lucknow, from 1998-2000, Prof. Singh underwent an international learning as Fellow-JSPS, JAPAN from Okayama University, Okayama, JAPAN under Prof. Kimiyuki Satoh, the world fame biologist.

Dr. Singh Served as Professor of Botany at University of Lucknow, Lucknow after serving GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, PANTNAGAR (Uttarakhand) for nearly two decades, also as Professor & Head, Plant Physiology and guided over 40 Ph.D-PG students, who have been awarded their degrees
An Incarnation of Dynamism and Pragmatism
Professor Singh also carried out an advance study in modern biology, i.e. functional genomics of chloroplast biogenesis at Turku University, Biocity, FINLAND in 2002 with Prof. Eva-Mari Aro, another premier plant scientist of the world. The Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India awarded him BOYSCAST (better opportunity for young scientists in chosen areas of Science & Technology) fellowship in 1998 to pursue the Postdoctoral research at University of California, USA. Also being conferred a prestigious Jawahar Lal Nehru National Award with Gold-Medal for outstanding research work in agricultural sciences by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, Govt. of India in 1995.

He has published more than 100 research papers in national and international journals of high repute, which are cited in high ranking impactful Journals such as J. Biological Chemistry, USA: Nucleic Acid Research, USA Plant Physiology, USA etc; credited seven advanced books from Lambert Academic Publishing & Scholar’s Press, GERMANY, two laboratory manuals, i.e. one each for UG & PG from GB Pant University, PANTNAGAR and Completed 08 research projects. He delivered over 30 invited lectures in national & international meets in India and abroad and also visited Japan, Finland and Germany for the cause of science.

Dr. Vijay Kumar Yadav, Officer –In- Charge, Placement
Dr. Vijay Kumar Yadav obtained his B.Sc (Ag & AH) (1988) , M.Sc.(1990) and Ph.D(1998) degree from C.S.A University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur-2 and Joined the same University in 1997 as Asstt Professor. His Primary research focus was on Pulses and rice breeding. Currently, he is engaged in Development of New Plant Type varieties with higher yield and inbuilt resistance to major insect and pest and fine grain rice varieties with using both conventional and molecular approaches. Dr. Yadav is credited for the publication of two reference books: “Pulse crops- Production Technology” and Agro-Techniques of Cereal Crops from Kalyani Publication, GENERAL AGRICULTURE, Pub. He is published more than 112 research/ presented papers/ popular articles in different national and international journals and carrying five research projects on rice improvements, guided 11 Ph.D-PG students, dissiminated more than52 news in daily new papers. He has the credit to international research linkage & collaboration, Developed two Rice genotypes, and evaluated more than 950 rice germplasm including Indica and Tropical Japonica. Dr. Yadav visited International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines for two weeks advanced training on Markers Assisted Selection rice breeding: Laying foundation for second green revolution. He has been honoured with three Appreciation Letters from Vice Chancellors for successfully organizing summers school and personality development programme . Presently, Dr. Vijay is Working as Rice Breeder& Officer in Charge, AICRP on Rice, Co Officer-in- Charge- Directorate of Human Resource and Development, Game Councilor- Khabbdi and Kho- kho and Treasurer of the Alumni Association and Hostel Warden CSAUA&T, Kanpur.

Accomplishments:
The CSA University imparts job oriented professional education in the fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Home Science and Agricultural Engineering. The duty of the University towards its students does not end here but includes finding suitable employment also for its Alumni so that their training and abilities are utilized for the benefit of the nation. In order to achieve this object, the University has setup a full-fledged Directorate of Placement, which is a unique feature of the University. The degree holder graduate and post-graduate students of various departments of different faculties are given job opportunities in public and private sector organizations/companies/industries etc. of various departments through liaison with them and campus interviews.
