Mission

• The department is committed to provide academic excellence and quality of education to the students. Vocational training is provided for students so that they can become entrepreneurship and set up their own enterprise. The department is responsible for providing learning environment to the students so that their learning can be improved. The department adopts different communication skills so that maximum communication can be excellent and department also committed to provide scholarship to Ph.D. students from other reputed organizations to pursue Ph.D. work.
• H.Sc. ECM that envisions transforming girls into the empowered 21^st Century women by imparting quality training in an enriched, fulfilling and holistic lifestyle. The department focused primarily educating young ladies belonging to the upper crusts of society, on social graces, etiquette and social skills to meet the society had created for them and to play out their defined roles. “Our vision is to see our students soar high and reach the sky. We give them power under their wings so that they may fly”.

Mandates

• The main directive of ECM department is that whatever knowledge and experience students are gaining from Home Science education has to be given back to the society in the form of Extension services in the community once they pass out from here.

• Regular ongoing classes in UG, PG and Ph.D. level.
• 27 Ph.D. awarded in the department.
• 80 per cent placement of students in Govt. and private organizations.
• It is a matter of great honour for the department that since 2011 we are continuously getting PDF fellows from UGC and ICSSR. The research work of 3 PDF fellows had been completed and research work of 5 PDF fellows are running.
• The department has honour to conduct four national conferences sponsored by Govt. of India.
• The research work is done by the Ph.D. scholar in all the blocks of Kanpur district.
• The department has adopted Anupur and Sanni Saripur villages of district Kanpur.
• The department has made a lot of progress in the field of publication so far 57 books, 400 research papers and 55 popular articles have been published.
• Highly qualified teachers D.Sc. and net in the department. The teachers of the department have so far received 70 awards from the different organizations.
• The Head of the Department has been appointed by the UGC as the Advisor of Tamilnadu state (year 2014-17) and appointed member of Accreditation team of VNM Agriculture University Parbhani, Maharashtra in the year 2015-16 and Expert in selection of Professor/Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in the universities and in Public Service Commission of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
