Dr C.L. Maurya is a dynamic teacher and possessed multitasking ability to handle workloads efficiently and perform tasks with utmost productivity. He is having skills that help in dealing with people of all sorts. He is a diligent and continuous learner and keen to learn about the latest technologies and advancements in the field of academia. His contribution as an academician is continuously helping in improving the farmers’ livelihood and transforming the students’ from job seeker centric to the job provider centric. At present he is working as a Professor, Department of Seed Science & Technology, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. He was borne on 5th January 1966 in the District Sant Kabir Nagar of Uttar Pradesh. He did his school education from his native place and college education and doctoral degree from Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, UP. Dr. Maurya has joined on the post of Assistant Professor in the year 1991 in the same department where he had pursued his PG education. In the span of 29 years of his services, he graced the various positions like Registrar; Director, Seed & Farm; Director, Administration & Monitoring; Director, Placement; Head of Department; University Librarian; Breeder Seed Production officer and Associate NCC Officer. He has been Warden, Games Councilor and Secretary to the Board of Faculty also. In the year 2013, he joined as Registrar in Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar. Since, then University was in its infant stage, he has introduced many meaningful new courses in UG/PG course curricula as per local needs and opened new departments of Genetic Engineering & Molecular Biology, Seed Science & Technology and PHT in horticulture. He has automatized whole examination, evaluation and result management system of the University. He had instituted a “Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CETL), in BAU, Bihar with a mandate to promote innovations and excellence in curriculum and all aspects of teaching and learning. On the part of students’ development, he had groomed students through regular institutional NCC trainings, combined Annual Camp trainings, professional trainings and counseling. A total of 255 students were placed in various national and international organizations through on campus and off campus placement drives. Approximately 4000 PG students of different educational institutions were exposed to various kind of trainings to develop their capacity building in the areas of seed science & technology, communication skills, team and team building qualities; theses, research paper and report writing skill development. He has published 7 books, 16 bulletins/brochure, and more than 125 research paper/research articles/abstract papers and developed 10 seed production, processing and storage technologies. He has organized more than 20 ICAR funded trainings/Webinars for capacity building of farmers and students. He has attended 18 National trainings, >50 National seminars/conferences, 13 International conferences and 15 National workshop. He is a life member of 8 professional scientific societies. There are 14 awards/honors in his credential. He has guided 42 M.Sc. & 14 Ph.D. students. He dealt 2 AICRP project, 8 National Ad-hoc project and numerous institutional projects so far. Dr. Maurya is an elected “Fellow” of Indian Society of Seed Technologist.
