Dr. D.P. Singh was born on 12th April, 1964 in District Pilibhit (U.P.). He did his M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture from Meerut University, and Ph.D. in Horticulture from Kanpur University. He Joined Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur in 1988 and Presently, working as Associate Professor/Sr. Scientist (Vegetable Seeds) and also Officer Incharge of All India Coordinated Research Project on Vegetable Crops. He has also served as Joint Director Research in CSAUAT, Kanpur from June 2016 to April 2020. He has more than 32 years experience of teaching, research and extension activities in area Seed Production, Technology dissemination, Extension and developed 09 technologies of different vegetable crops for the agro-climatic zone-IV. Besides, He actively engages in vegetable production technologies to the farmers of UP state. Dr. Singh also made great efforts in field of Resource generation and infrastructure development as PI/Co-PI of 12 adhoc projects (approximately Rs. 34.93 crores) funded by State Govt. and ICAR. He published 55 full length research papers, 23 lead paper/review articles, 06 extended summaries, 163 research abstracts, 14 books & proceedings, 09 book chapters, 07 technical trainings/training manuals, 19 folders, 08 participatory research studies and 64 popular articles. He was conferred by different awards notable; CSAU Award of Excellence-2019, Fellow Award 2019, SRDA award, Azad Krishi Samman-2013, Lifetime Achievement award 2011, Vishvidyalaya Ratna 2008 and many Appreciation awards for his distinguished services and outstanding contribution to the nation. He is also life members of six scientific/social societies and also great exposure of abroad more than 03 times i.e. Taiwan and Thailand.
