Summary

Dr. Rajiv was born on 15th July, 1969 in district Muzaffarnagar of Uttar Pradesh. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Agronomy from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut in 1998. Presently, he is working as Vegetable Agronomist in Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur. He has an experience of more than 20 years in teaching, research and extension including about 4 years in the World Bank aided U.P. Diversified Agriculture Support Project (DASP). He has focused research work on varied resource conservation techniques, organic farming, nutrient management, integrated plant nutrient management and diversification & intensification. He has developed 08 agro-techniques for vegetable crops suitable for IV agro-climatic zone which contributing to national income. He has published more than 25 full length research papers, 4 research/lead articles, 65 research abstracts, 4 technical bulletins, 10 extension leaflets, 21 popular articles in Hindi and contributed seven chapters in different books. He has written/edited four books. Dr. Rajiv has guided five post-graduate and Ph.D. students as chairman of the advisory committee. He is a recipient of Vishwavidhyalaya Gaurav Award, Azad Krishi Samman 2013 Award, Azad Krishi Samman 2017 Award, Award of Excellence- 2018, Scientist of the Year Award- 2019 and CSAU Award of Excellence- 2019. For significant contribution in the field of diversification and intensification, Government of Uttar Pradesh awarded him as “Certificate of Appreciation” in 2004. He got appreciation by the CSAUA&T, Kanpur for successfully implementing various activities of the university. He is fellow of Hind Agri-Horticultural Society. He is also serving as a member editorial board in an international journal. He is life member of four professional societies. Dr. Rajiv has organized 01 National Conference, 02 short courses and 01 national e-training in the capacity of Co-Organizing Secretary. He has an experience of formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the scheme. Presently, he is actively involved in social safe gourd activities of the ICAR and the world bank funded project Centre for Advanced Agricultural Science & Technology on Nutritional Crops (CAAST- NC) and development of agro-technique for vegetable crops.
