Dr. Sanjive Kumar Singh after getting B.Sc.(Ag.) degree from Janta College Bakewar (Etawah) in 1986 and M.Sc.(Ag.) in Horticulture from C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur in 1998 and Ph.D. degree in Horticulture in 2005 from C.C.S. University, Meerut. Joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Vegetable Science. CSAUA&T, Kanpur. He started his service career as Research Assistant in 1987 in the same department. Dr. Singh is involved in teaching at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels, besides pursuing research in vegetables and spices crops. He is also guiding M.Sc.(Ag.) and Ph.D. scholars in the field of vegetable science. Dr. Singh is also Co-Principal Investigator in short term research projects funded by Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperation, Farmer’s Welfare, GOI and Associate scientist of NAHEP-Centre for advanced agriculture science & technology on nutritional crops (Nodal Officer-Horticulture) project funded by ICAR.
Dr. Singh is author of 8 books, including a popular book Principles and Practices of Seed Production of Vegetable Crops. He has also published 200 popular articles and 75 research papers in reputed journals, besides credited with and releasing 6 varieties of vegetables and spices crops (3 of chilli, one each of coriander, fenugreek and Zimikand crops), two recommendations released from ICAR on seed production technology for farmers during AICRP (VC) group meeting. He is member of several professional societies, secretary of Annals of Horticulture journal and honoured with social and scientific awards such as Young Fellow Award, Bhumi Nirman Award, Shiksha Ratna Award, Scientist of the Year Award, Man of the year and Best citizens of India many more. He was awarded with Young Scientists Award 2018 received by Hi-Tech Horticulture Society and Prerna Foundation during 2nd Global Meet on Science and technology for ensuring quality life (GMST) at Bali, Indonesia and conferred with Fellowship Award by Society for Recent Development in Agriculture for making commendable contribution in vegetable research. He was actively involved with students, farmers and citizens during lockdown due to COVID-19, through newspaper, Amar Ujala facebook live talk, short film and phone advisory to give suggestions on nutritious diet. He also received Honour and citation award from Department of Horticulture U.P., Amar Ujala Newspaper and Nagar Nigam Kanpur for significant efforts against COVID-19.
