Dr. Seema Sonkar born on 7/9/72 at Kanpur city. She completed their 10 from MKG college Kanpur in 11+2 from M.G. Civil lines Kanpur, and Undergraduate degree B.Sc. H.Sc. from CSA University in 1996, M.Sc. Food Science degree in 1998 from the same University Kanpur, and qualified the NET and ARS in 1998 then join as a lecturer in Kanpur Vidya Mandir Degree College, Kanpur from 1998 to 2000 after that joining as an Assistant Professor in 2001 in the Food Science & Nutritional Department of of C.S. Azad University Kanpur, area of specialisation in teaching Food nutrition, clinical nutrition, food processing, dietetic food, micronutrients, therapeutic nutrition, community nutrition, she guided M.Sc. student thesis more than 35 as a major guide and more than 40 students of M. Sc. as a co guide, Five student of Ph.D. as co guide, the research work emphasis on therapeutic nutrition, clinical nutrition and micronutrient fortified products. Published more than fifty research paper in different recognized journal, written books on basic concept of micronutrients in human nutrition, diet counseling, dietetic food, food security- a challenge towards mal nutrition. Chapter: Moringa: A miracle tree for Africa –Asian Health” in the book- Trends in technology for agriculture, food, environment and health. Author: Seema Sonkar, and KAHSAI WOLDE GIORGIS Germany, written manual on clinical nutrition& micronutrient in human nutrition for undergraduate students. Presented research paper in different national and international symposia and seminar in India and abroad as paper on development of processed healthy food fortified with beet root and Moringa on 7th international conference on sustainable agriculture for food, energy and industry in regional and global context at Malaysia, paper on international triticale conference organized by plant breeding and acclimatization at Institute- IHAR-PIB, Radzikow, Poland, paper at international seminar on sustainable intensification of agriculture through resource management and conservation at Gottingen, paper on Food policy and their implementation towards food security at third international conference on agriculture engineering and food security, organized by Humboldt, university , Berlin, germany, paper accepted at Enhancement of antioxidant property in the product through black rice at PSENPS-2020 SUMMIT Khulana Bangladesh 2020 and presented paper on Food Storage Practices and their impact on food security at 9 th conference titled “Reliable renewable energies for off- grid empowering rural habitats” (DK) Denmark.
